Download free resources to support battery and vape recycling awareness campaigns in your workplace.
Every year, an estimated 1,200+ battery and vape fires occur across the UK waste system.
When batteries and vapes are disposed of in general waste or mixed recycling bins, they can be crushed or damaged during collection and processing, causing them to ignite.
Fires can start at any stage of the waste journey, from workplace waste stores and compactors to collection vehicles, transfer stations, and recycling facilities.
Fires can put local residents at risk, force nearby businesses to close, disrupt public transport, and divert emergency service resources.
To help ensure batteries and vapes are recycled safely and efficiently, we ask Recorra customers to book quarterly Battery & Vape Recycling collections.
However, regular collections are only effective in reducing fire risk if batteries and vapes make it into the right bin in the first place.
That’s why awareness is so important.
Whether you’re a facilities manager, sustainability lead, business owner, or workplace team member, the resources below are designed to help you educate everyone who accesses your site about correct battery and vape disposal.
These resources are designed to work as a complete awareness campaign or standalone materials and can be customised as needed to suit your workplace.
For maximum impact, we recommend combining posters, digital communications, internal messaging, and social media content to reinforce the message across multiple touchpoints.
Posters create visible reminders in high-traffic areas and at collection points.
Designed for communal spaces such as kitchens, bathrooms, coffee stations, smoking areas, reception spaces, and lifts, this poster highlights the dangers of incorrectly disposing of batteries and vapes to bin users and directs them to learn more.
This poster provides guidance for cleaning and facilities teams on collecting and consolidating batteries and vapes from across floors safely while encouraging proper recycling practices throughout the building.
These posters clearly show what can and cannot be placed in Recorra’s Battery & Vape Recycling containers, helping bin users recycle correctly and reduce contamination.
Digital channels help reinforce key messages and reach people wherever they are working.
