We're proud to announce we've been asked to provide recycling services to The Open Market, including food waste recycling. On Thursday 20th August, we're holding a launch day to educate stall holders about how they can get involved with recycling. If you're interested in finding out more about food waste and other recycling schemes, come along and say hello. The event is open to all, there will be competitions and prize drawers as well as other things to get your teeth into.

FoodWISE

In addition to speaking to stall holders, we'll also be letting people know about the FoodWISE scheme. At Brighton Paper Round we specialise in helping you to move your waste up the waste hierarchy, and (believe it or not!) where it’s possible to do so, away from recycling. At the top of the waste hierarchy is prevention. This is where the FoodWISE scheme comes in.

FoodWISE is a business growth programme run by the European Regional Development Fund. The programme offers free account management support for small and medium sized businesses and focuses on:

• Improving green credentials
• Diverting food waste from the waste stream

Currently, Brighton Paper Round are working with FoodWISE to provide free consultation, a range of service options and a combination of audit and best practice initiatives.

The benefits of the scheme are potentially huge and can be used to promote your business as an environmental champion.
