Our Cork Recycling service helps give natural cork a new purpose by turning collected materials into valuable new products. To ensure the recycling process remains efficient and effective, it’s important that only accepted cork items are placed in this stream.
Our Circular Box recycling service helps you recycle hard-to-recycle workplace waste like soft plastics, stationery and coffee pods, helping businesses divert more waste from incineration and keep valuable materials in circulation. Simple, effective and sustainable, it helps your workplace increase recycling rates and support a more circular economy.
Yes, natural corks can be recycled through dedicated cork recycling schemes. After collection, the corks are sent to our service partner, who then distributes them to specialist cork recycling facilities. There, they are either repurposed for reuse or reprocessed into raw materials, ready for their next stage of life.
Please note that plastic corks are not accepted within our cork recycling stream. However, they can still be collected through our Circular Box service, where they are recycled and transformed into Stormboard.
Cork is a natural, renewable material that is highly recyclable, but it is not considered 100% recyclable in all contexts. Through cork recycling natural corks can be collected, processed, and reused to create new products. However, this recycling process applies primarily to natural cork, and not all cork products (containing plastic materials or adhesives) can be fully recycled.
A cork recycling programme helps reduce waste by giving used natural cork a second life, instead of being sent to landfill. These programmes support a more sustainable approach by reusing a natural resource.
Cork recycling also helps reduce the demand for new raw materials, increases recycling rates, and encourages more circular, environmentally responsible habits in both communities and businesses.
No, cork should not be placed in your mixed recycling bin. Recycling systems are not designed to process natural corks, as they are small and can contaminate other recyclable materials. Instead, corks should be collected through dedicated cork recycling programmes, where they are sorted and processed for reuse in new products.
